PROJECTS, DECISIONS, MEETINGS, INFORMATION UPDATES
01. WE WANT TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE TOWN HALL AND THE POPULATION
- The creation of a new website with regular updates of ongoing projects, dates of the upcoming municipal council meetings, council minutes, municipal news, a list of associations and businesses in Chéronnac/ July 2026
- The launch of a new quarterly municipal newsletter, available in paper or digital format./ January 2027
- The creation of a bilingual welcome booklet./ September 2026
02. WE WANT TO ENABLE RESIDENTS TO BE AT THE HEART OF THE DEMOCRATIC LIFE OF THE MUNICIPALITY:
- The introduction of an ideas and suggestions book for the municipality/ September 2026
- The organization of public meetings, citizens debates and conferences for major municipal projects.
- The creation of a “Village Council” renewed annually and open to all Chéronnac residents (with no age or nationality restrictions) to give everyone the opportunity to get involved in municipal projects./ January 2027
ENVIRONMENT AND TOURISM
OUR MUNICIPALITY HAS POTENTIAL AND MANY ASSETS — LET’S MAKE THE MOST OF THEM!
01. WE WANT TO PROMOTE OUR TOURIST SITES
- The installation of informative, fun and educational signs at our tourist sites and the promotion of the history and heritage of our municipality.
- The implementation of a heritage preservation program pertaining to forges, mills and old buildings.
- The cataloging of local fauna and flora in collaboration with the PNRPL Regional Natural Park, the Chéronnac ACCA (hunting association), local unions and associations./ From June 2026
- The listing and promotion of registered holiday cottages and guest houses in the municipality./ July 2026
02. PROTECTING OUR RURAL FOOTPATHS
- The cancellation or renegotiation of the irregular agreement signed in 2023, authorizing the wind farm developer to occupy all our communal spaces and paths for 30 years. (The agreement can be consulted on our website).
- The maintenance of our existing paths and reopening of former ones which still belong to the municipality.
- The undertaking of safety improvements and the updating of our hiking trails – reducing dangerous sections, limiting walking on departmental roads, and renewing signs.
03. MANAGING AND PLANNING THE DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN THE MUNICIPALITY TOGETHER:
- Protect certain areas of high ecological interest.
- Assure Public consultation for large-scale projects.
- Oppose the Chéronnac wind farm project.
- Provide Information on renewable energy, home insulation and the installation of solar water heaters for individuals.
- Encourage the installation of rooftop photovoltaic panels.
04. DEVELOPMENT OF THE PLUi (2026–2030): We will actively participate in the development of our new Inter-municipal Local Urban Plan, in accordance with the guidelines and requirements of the Territorial Coherence Plan(SCoT), and in close collaboration with the inter-municipal authorities and the residents. This involves:
- The protection of our natural spaces and farmland (food sovereignty).
- The preservation of our building zones.
- Encouraging the conversion of old barns into habitable dwellings.
- Anticipating net zero land development (ZAN objectives)
05. PROTECTING OUR WATER RESOURCES, QUALITY AND QUANTITY:
- We will represent Chéronnac at the SIAEP Vayres-Tardoire and inform residents about pollutant levels in our water and solutions to be implemented.
- We will protect the catchment areas in the PLUi.
- We will encourage farming practices that respect water resources, in partnership with the Regional Natural Park, the Chamber of Agriculture and the Water Agency.
06. WE WANT TO ENCOURAGE FARMERS, SMALLHOLDERS AND MARKET GARDENERS INTO OUR MUNICIPALITY:
- In partnership with the inter-municipal authority and the Chamber of Agriculture.
QUALITY OF LIFE
CREATING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN RESIDENTS AND MUNICIPAL SERVICES
01. THE CREATION OF A COMMUNITY EVENTS COMMITTEE TO BRING LIFE TO OUR MUNICIPALITY
- The return of the oyster festival from 2027, several annual celebrations, welcoming newcomers, open-air cinema, workshops, etc.
- The development of sports and outdoor activities in the municipality in partnership with local associations.
02. ENCOURAGING NEW FAMILIES TO SETTLE HERE:
- By giving visibility to the available plots on the housing estate: communication and active marketing./ Septembre 2026
- By supporting renovation projects for unoccupied old buildings.
03. IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE VILLAGE CENTRE OF CHÉRONNAC AND MAKING IT MORE CONDUCIVE TO GATHERING
- Rethinking parking in the village centre and public space (creating social areas, considering extending the bar terrace and creating a dedicated market space, etc.).
- Encouraging the establishment of new shops (grocery store, bread depot, etc.).
- Greening and enhancing the village centre in partnership with local associations.
- Developing the Chéronnac market.
- Creating a communal orchard with a relaxation and social area.
- Considering burying overhead utility lines for a more beautiful village and a more reliable network, as has been done in neighboring communes (Videix, Massignac, etc.). Up to 80% of external funding available (Enedis, rural electrification funds, telecom operators).
04. IMPROVING MOBILITY FOR ALL:
- By creating a car-sharing service between residents to facilitate travel for those in need (home support for our elderly, isolated people, etc.).
05. CREATION OF A TOOL AND EQUIPMENT LENDING SERVICE FOR RESIDENTS
- Examples: garden shredder, trailer, apple press, etc.
